Calculus Tutor: From Pre-Calculus to University Level
One-to-one calculus tuition, taught by Mr. Ahmad. Differentiation, integration, series and differential equations for A-Level, IB HL, AP Calculus AB and BC, and first-year university courses. Online worldwide, or in person in Dubai.
Calculus is where school maths turns into real mathematics, and where students most often decide they “can’t do maths”. Usually the problem is not calculus at all. It is the algebra, trigonometry and functions underneath it: a student who cannot simplify an expression confidently will not be able to differentiate it, and a student who is shaky on the unit circle will be lost by the second week of integration.
Mr. Ahmad teaches calculus in two layers. First, the foundations are checked and repaired — quickly, because they are usually small gaps. Then the calculus itself is taught as ideas with meaning: what a derivative measures, what an integral adds up, why the chain rule works. Students who understand the ideas remember the techniques; students who only memorise techniques forget them by the exam.
Who calculus tuition is for
- A-Level Maths and Further Maths (Edexcel, Cambridge, AQA, OCR)
- IB Mathematics AA HL and SL, AI HL
- AP Calculus AB and BC, Honors Pre-Calculus
- IGCSE Further Pure Maths and Additional Maths, which introduce calculus early
- University foundation and first-year engineering, economics, physics and computer science students
- Adult learners returning to mathematics
Topics covered
- Limits and continuity, the derivative as a limit
- Differentiation: product, quotient and chain rules, implicit and parametric differentiation, related rates
- Applications: tangents and normals, stationary points, optimisation, curve sketching, kinematics
- Integration: standard integrals, substitution, by parts, partial fractions, definite integrals and areas, volumes of revolution
- Differential equations: separable and first-order linear, modelling, Euler’s method
- Series: Maclaurin and Taylor series, convergence tests (BC / Further Maths), power series
How lessons work
- A diagnostic to find the algebra and trigonometry gaps that block calculus
- Every rule derived and explained once, then practised until fluent
- Exam-board questions from the first lesson, since each board asks calculus differently
- Graphing-calculator skills where the exam allows them
- Written justification practised for AP FRQs and IB ‘show that’ questions
- Timed exam practice in the run-up to exams
Why students work with Mr. Ahmad
- 13+ years of one-to-one tutoring across British, IB, American, SABIS and Australian curricula
- Exam-focused: every lesson is built around what the mark scheme rewards, not just what the textbook says
- Online lessons that actually work: iPad and digital whiteboard on Zoom or Google Meet, so you see every line of working
- Lesson notes and worksheets after each session, so the student has something to revise from
- Flexible timing across time zones, including evenings and weekends
How lessons work
- Trial lesson at 50% off. A first full lesson at half price, to see where the student is and how we work together.
- Plan. We map the syllabus against the exam date and agree what to cover, in what order.
- Weekly lessons. One-to-one, usually 60 or 90 minutes, with homework set from past-paper questions.
- Exam run-in. Timed papers, mark-scheme review, and a checklist of the mistakes that cost marks.

Try a full lesson with Mr. Ahmad at half price before you commit to anything. It is a real lesson, not a sales call: bring a topic the student is stuck on and we will work through it together.
- Online from anywhere in the world, or in person across Dubai
- You get honest feedback on where the student stands and what to fix first
- No card, no contract — if it is not the right fit, that is fine

Frequently asked questions
Do you teach university-level calculus?
Yes. First-year single-variable calculus, and introductory multivariable calculus and differential equations for engineering and science courses.
My child has never really understood differentiation. Is it too late?
No. Differentiation is usually taught too fast at school; with one-to-one explanation and a few lessons of practice most students catch up quickly.
Which exams do you prepare for?
A-Level and Further Maths, IB AA and AI, AP Calculus AB and BC, IGCSE Further Pure and Additional Maths, and university admissions tests such as the MAT and STEP.
Can calculus be taught online?
Yes. Working is written live on a shared digital whiteboard and shared afterwards, which suits calculus very well.
