About Mr. Ahmad: Maths & Science Tutor in Dubai and Online
Shehroz Ahmad, known to students as Mr. Ahmad, is a private maths, physics, chemistry and biology tutor with more than 13 years of one-to-one teaching experience. He works with students from Grade 6 to A-Level, IB HL and AP, in person across Dubai and online anywhere in the world.
Who Mr. Ahmad is
Mr. Ahmad started tutoring more than thirteen years ago and has taught one-to-one ever since. Over that time he has worked with hundreds of students across Dubai’s British, IB, American, SABIS and Australian schools, and with students around the world online, including families in the UK, Europe, Asia and North America. His students have ranged from Grade 6 pupils building foundations to IB HL and A-Level candidates chasing the top grades, and from students who had lost all confidence in maths to those preparing for engineering and medicine.
What makes his teaching different is the combination of subjects. Mr. Ahmad teaches maths and all three sciences to A-Level and IB HL standard. That means a physics student never has to find a second tutor for the algebra or calculus, a chemistry student gets the mole calculations taught properly, and a family with children in different years and subjects can work with one tutor who already knows the whole picture.
He is exam-focused by conviction. Every lesson is built around what the mark scheme rewards, every topic is practised on real past-paper questions, and every student learns how to read a question, show working the examiner can follow and manage time under pressure. Teaching philosophy: smart work beats hard work
Most students who struggle in maths or science are not lazy and not “bad at the subject”. They have two or three specific gaps that nobody went back to fix, and a way of revising, usually re-reading notes, that does not match how exams test them. Mr. Ahmad’s approach is built to fix both.
1. Find the real gap
The first lesson is a diagnostic. It shows where understanding actually broke down, which is often several topics earlier than the one the student thinks is the problem.
2. Concepts before tricks
Topics are taught from the ground up with real examples and visual working, so the student understands why a method works and can use it on an unfamiliar question.
3. Practise with purpose
Students attempt questions independently, then the errors are analysed together. Every lesson uses past-paper questions from the student’s own exam board.
4. Learn the mark scheme
Command words, method marks, “show that” questions, six-mark explanations, free-response justifications: students learn exactly what earns marks and what does not.
5. Adapt to the learner
Lessons adjust to visual, auditory and hands-on learners, and to students with ADHD, autism or other learning needs, so everyone can compete at the same level.
6. Keep parents informed
Lesson notes are shared after every session and parents receive regular progress updates, so nobody is guessing about how things are going.

How lessons work
Online, anywhere in the world
Lessons run on Zoom or Google Meet with a shared digital whiteboard, so the student sees every line of working live and receives the annotated notes afterwards. Mr. Ahmad teaches students across time zones, with lesson times fixed around the school day, and most of his IB, A-Level and AP students are taught this way.
In person across Dubai
For families in Dubai, lessons can take place at home in Downtown, Business Bay, Jumeirah, JVC, JLT, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills, Motor City, Mirdif, The Springs and Meadows, Emirates Hills and most other communities. Everything needed, from iPad lessons to past papers, comes with the tutor.
A typical tutoring journey
